CHAMBER ORGANISING
Chamber organizing in
the territory of Banja Luka Region starts from 1902 when a Craftsmen
Association with 120 members was established in Banja Luka.
The Law on
establishing the Chamber of Trade and Handicraftsman from 1909
regulates Chamber’s organizing as a public-legal institution in the
whole territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In current territory
of Banja Luka region from that period up to the 1962 structural
Chambers, mostly for agriculture, catering, tourism and craft were
active.
The Law on
establishing unique Chambers of Commerce and Industry from 1962
constitutes the Chamber of Commerce and Industry as a general type
Chamber including all areas and branches of economy.
Today, the Chamber of
Commerce and Industry of Banja Luka region is a part of a unique
Chamber System of the republic of Srpska which is organized on the
bases of the Law on Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 1992.
 Since January 1st
2004 the membership in the Chamber has been on voluntary base.
Chamber of Commerce
and Industry is an independent, non-governmental, non-political,
non-profit, and expert-professional, public-legal association of
economic entities and associations from Banja Luka region.
Chamber of Commerce
and Industry of Banja Luka region is a part of the unique Chamber
System of the Republic of Srpska which consists of: Chamber of
Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Srpska situated in Banja
Luka and five Regional Chambers of Commerce and Industry (situated
in Banja Luka, Bijeljina, Doboj, Trebinje and East Sarajevo).
Chamber of Commerce
and Industry of Banja Luka region, situated in Banja Luka, include
more than 50% of the territory and economy of the Republic of Srpska.
Our members are
enterprises, banks, insurance companies and other financial
organizations, associations, communities, agricultural cooperatives,
scientific-research and educational institutions, unions, interest
associations, foundations and other subjects performing activity of
relevance to the economy.
Resources for
Chamber’s work are generated from the membership fee and fees for
providing business services.
In 2004 Chamber of
Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Srpska, together with the
regional Chambers, as unique Chamber System implemented Quality
Management System in accordance with requirements of ISO 9001:2000
standards.
